Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 'Discovery Call'?

A discovery call is a 15-minute conversation to connect and see if we’re a good fit. You can get health questions answered and we can discuss your health goals. My goal is to help you. Whether that is with me or another provider/service is totally ok with me. I’ll offer my insight while you have your questions answered. There is zero pressure.

(This call will not offer treatment recommendations or diagnosis).

What conditions do you treat?

Most people I work with struggle with things like anxiety, stress, burnout, hormonal concerns, autoimmunity and digestion concerns. I support both your emotional well-being and your ability to manage stress effectively.

My approach emphasizes the mind body connection therefore any condition which is affected by stress/emotions/mindset could benefit from the care I provide.

What methods do you use for treatment? Is this similar to therapy?

Mind-Body Counselling and Emotional Resilience Coaching are supportive, non-psychotherapy services provided within the scope of naturopathic medicine. When the body has a felt sense of emotional safety – the nervous system regulates & the body is primed for healing.
Our busy lives make the burden of stress & emotional dysregulation very potent. Providing space to be heard & seen can really help to gain perspective and help us feel more balanced and in control of our destiny & well being. (This does not involve diagnosis or treatment of mental health disorders).

A large part of the my work is also looking at supporting the body. There are many things can be contributors to things like stress, anxiety & burnout that have everything to do with the body. For example, Iron deficiency or thyroid concerns. Making sure the body is functioning optimally gives the body its best chance to be resilient & thrive.

Methods include but not limited to:

– Mind-Body Counselling and Emotional Resilience Coaching

– Lifestyle Changes

– Nutrition Support

– Lab work assessment

– Supplementation

– Referall when additional investigation or support is required

Can I work with you alongside my medical doctor? Or while I'm taking medications?

Yes! It is encouraged to continue to seek & receive medical care from your family doctor, as needed. Medications that are prescribed by your doctor will be taken into account to ensure there is no interactions when prescribing vitamins/herbs etc. Collaborative care truly is the BEST care.

What happens after I book?

After you book, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Additionally, 30 minutes before your scheduled call you’ll receive an email with a link to the virtual meeting.

Will I be pressured to book in for a session?

Absolutely not. My goal is to help you. Whether that is with me or another provider or service is totally ok with me. I’ll offer my insight while you have your questions answered. There is zero pressure.

What are your fees if I decide to continue? Is it covered by health insurance?

My fees are:

Initial Visit (1.5hr): $200

Follow Up (1hr): $165

Follow Up (30 mins): $100

Yes, most people with health insurance receive coverage (~$500/yr) for naturopathic medicine. Please contact your provider to find out the specifics.

If I book in, how long till I get results? How many sessions do I need?

This is highly variable depending on the condition being treated and the individual themselves. I have some people that only require 2-3 visits for their concerns to be addressed and some folks receive ongoing care for years because they benefit from the approach of having that support. For some, I become a member of their health care team where I can offer support throughout their life with different stages and health goals they may have. It all depends on the person, their goals, their budget, their values, their condition etc. But overall I would say most people feel ‘lighter and more clarity’ after one visit and symptom relief in days/weeks. There is no guaranteed made to receive a specific result within a specific time period.
